Moscow – Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO)
Located 29 km outside Moscow city centre, Sheremetyevo International Airport is best accessed by public transport as parking spaces are limited. The quickest way is by taking the Aeroexpress train, which departs from Belorussky station every 20-30 mins and gets you to the airport in about 40 minutes. A standard adult ticket costs RUB 500, but it is worth it for the time you save compared with other options.
St. Petersburg – Pulkovo International Airport (LED)
This airport is the third busiest in Russia, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there before your flight. Located 23 km outside the centre of Saint Petersburg, the airport is well served by public transport and therefore easily accessed. You can take either the city bus 39 or 39Ex or the marshrutka minibus K39 to the airport from Moskovskaya metro station. They each cost RUB 40 but take different amounts of time. If you want to get a taxi, make sure you use an official taxi company.
